Book
Description
Drawing on his forty plus years as a
world-class motivated speaker, Ziglar shows precisely how to
achieve what people desire most from life -- to be happy,
healthy, reasonably prosperous and secure, and to have
friends, peace of mind, good family relationships and hope.
I bought this book at a book fair at
my job and was reasonably impressed. Mr. Ziglar definitely
knows how to motivate people, and help with self esteem. One
great example from the book is an assistant of his who was
afraid of public speaking.
She had to run a presentation for Mr.
Ziglar once when he was late. At first she was really upset,
but once she did it she loved it. She later became a sales
trainer for one of the largest cosmetics companies in the
country.
He also goes into changing jobs and being positive. Like when
you talk about your job you say "I work for xyz company,
and let me tell you about this great guy I work
for".
As opposed to "Man that guy
never liked me and they keep taking benefits away". This
may seem like common sense, but i like the fact that Mr.
Ziglar examines a fact that many business leaders don't want
to admit. Bosses know when they are shafting you but don't
want to hear it ( 90% of the time) even if they ask for
input.
An interviewer knows that if you
loved your job you would probably not be leaving, so you need
a good excuse, such as no further room for growth, needing a
new challenge, or relocating if the 2 companies are far enough
apart.
One final point about the book i would like to make is this.
Mr. Ziglar gives a bonus in this book. He tells you the one
book that just about every single one of the CEO's of the top
companies in the country have read. This book is the
bible.
I like the fact that in today's
politically correct society that we live in that there is a
author that seems the love and faith in god as paramount to
someone's success. A nice statistic is that 80% of the CEO's
of those same companies admit to being either Christian or Jewish.
A faith in the man upstairs can definitely be beneficial to
your career.
Happy reading and God bless you and
God bless America
