Book
Description
The practice of
meditation takes us on a fabulous journey into the gap between
our thoughts, where all the advantages of a more peaceful,
stress-free, healthy, and fatigue-free life are available, but
which are simply side benefits.
The paramount reason
for daily meditation is to get into the gap between our
thoughts, and make conscious contact with the creative energy
of life itself. Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explains the soul-nourishing
meditation technique for making conscious contact with God,
which the ancient masters have told us about.
You have the potential to be an
instrument of the highest good for all concerned and to be a
literal miracle worker in your own life. No person,
government, or religion can legitimately claim to do this for
you. "In fact," says Dr. Dyer, "I agree with Carl Jung who
said, 'One of the main functions of formalized religion is to
protect people against a direct experience of God.'"
When you master getting into the gap and
staying there for prolonged segments of meditation, and
experience what you bring back to the material world, you will
know your answer to the question: "Why meditate?"

Dr. Dyer is a powerful writer and speaker. This book and Cd
help you meditate, or find the silence in the gap between
thoughts. He teaches you how to do it and also puts it in the
context of of experiencing god. His words and voice resonate
with warmth and generousity and this book/cd is worth every
penny.
I also recommend his "10 Secrets" book highly (as well as
most everything else he writes). Another book that is
exceptional at helping you become well, to experience deep
wellness, is "Effortless Wellbeing: The Missing Ingredients
for Authentic Wellness" by Evan Finer. Highly recommend these
titles!

I'm not into Zen and I only dabble in meditation, but I
liked this book/CD combo a lot. I work and have three kids and
there's never enough time FOR ME, so the quick/easy tools Dyer
provides helped me relax. Great book for meditation beginners,
like me.
Of course, the other thing that helps me survive stress is
laughing, and I recommend "I Sleep At Red Lights: A True Story
of Life After Triplets," by Bruce Stockler, a hilarious romp
across work, marriage, kids, ego, stress and the art of
juggling--and finding inner peace. |
